Comments

When visitors leave comments on our site, we collect the data provided in the comment form, along with the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to assist with spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (known as a hash) may be sent to the Gravatar service to determine if you are using it. Once your comment is approved, your profile picture will be visible to the public alongside your comment.

Media

If you upload images to our website, please avoid including images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors can download and extract any location data from images on the site.

Cookies

If you leave a comment, you may choose to save your name, email address, and website in cookies for convenience. This means you won’t need to fill in your details again for future comments. These cookies will persist for one year.

When you visit our login page, we set a temporary cookie to check if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie does not contain personal data and is deleted when you close your browser.

Upon logging in, we will set several cookies to save your login information and display preferences. Login cookies last for two days, while display option cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me,” your login will persist for two weeks. Logging out will remove the login cookies.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie does not contain personal data; it simply indicates the post ID of the article you edited and expires after one day.

Embedded Content from Other Websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g., videos, images, articles). This embedded content functions exactly as if you visited the other website directly.

These external sites may collect data about you, use cookies, include additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with the embedded content, especially if you have an account and are logged in.

Who We Share Your Data With

If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.

How Long We Retain Your Data

Comments and their metadata are retained indefinitely to recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically, rather than holding them in a moderation queue.

For users who register on our site, we store the personal information provided in their user profile. Users can view, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except for changing their username). Website administrators also have access to edit this information.

Your Rights Over Your Data

If you have an account on this site or have left comments, you can request an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you’ve provided. You can also request the deletion of any personal data we hold, excluding data we must retain for administrative, legal, or security reasons.

Where Your Data Is Sent

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
